The Two Moors Way Association works closely with those organisations that are responsible for managing the trail
The Two Moors Way Association works closely with those organisations that are responsible for managing the trail. Devon County Council manage all the Rights of Way within the county outside of the National Parks. Dartmoor and Exmoor National Park Authorities each maintain the trail within their respective areas in addition to conserving the landscape and promoting opportunities for public understanding and enjoyment.
The 40th Anniversary of the route was celebrated in 2016 and a special project was conducted to improve the route and ensure it is shared with a new generation. This project was primarily funded by Dartmoor and Exmoor National Park Authorities, with contributions from the Association and Devon County Council via its Countryside Team and local councillor grants. The project saw numerous route improvements undertaken in addition to launching this website and producing a new pocket guide.
Further work has been undertaken thanks to the Support of the Awards for All lottery funding which produced further interpretive materials, supported volunteers to monitor and help maintain the path and engaged local businesses along the route.
