Two Moors Stories

Jo Pearson and Mitch Chew

A delightful day’s walking in variable and interesting Devon countryside. We’re both Devon gels but new to this part. Very windy and changeable weather – but fun way to walk off Christmas.

Note: re footpath over railway line. The herras fencing is still blocking access to the mostly built official crossing point but it is possible to get round it to cross the line. Previous nearby RoW notices dated June and September 2021 clearly out of date!!
ED’S NOTE The text states that work on the crossing may go on until July 2022.

Enjoy the walk – it’s beautiful.

ED’S NOTE THE DARTMOOR LINE (RAILWAY) IS NOW OPEN WITH REGULAR TRAINS RUNNING BETWEEN EXETER AND OKEHAMPTON TMW walkers on Stage 6 need to divert round the lanes to the east (towards Colebrooke): please see the map on www.twomoorsway.org and on the Facebook page. Devon County Council are due to post this map at either end of the closed path, and Network Rail is due to install ‘traffic lights’ at the crossing to make it safe for walkers.
