Two Moors Stories

Jacqui Warrender and Paul Carter

We took advantage of a lovely spell of dry weather throughout July to do the Two Moors Way. We live in Devon so it was possible to do stages taking two cars and leaving one at the end of the stage and driving back to the beginning. We really enjoyed the Dartmoor and Exmoor sections but we did not see very many walkers at all while doing the route. We went equipped with picnics and cream teas so we were able to have stops during the walk and we surprised ourselves with being able to do 13 miles in one stage. We really liked the Exmoor stage between Tarr Steps and Lynmouth and had a great stay at Zeal Farm near Hawkridge where the owner Andrew gave us a Landrover tour of his farm so we could see the herds of red deer. We were really lucky with the weather and did not have any real problems navigating using the excellent Cicerone guide book. Brilliant walk and you get to see some parts of the county you would not ordinarily go through.

Our photos are on the ‘cherrytreecottagekennford’ Facebook page – sorry but the file sizes are too big (and there are too many to fit on here!

RECOMMENDED WALK!!
