Julien lives in Lorient, Brittany and walked the Dartmoor section of the Two Moors Way in November 2016. He says:
A bus took me to Crockernwell, a perfectly deserted place, and I joined the trail at Drewsteignton (1.8 miles). I crossed Dartmoor from north to south in this way:
Day 1: Crockernwell to Chagford Common 12 miles
Day 2: Chagford Common to Pupers Hill 15.5 miles
Day 3: Pupers Hill to Ivybridge 10.5 miles
I camped at Chagford Common (400m) and at Pupers Hill (ditto), purified water at Grimspound and tasted the refreshing Dart River and the Avon River. Delicious! The first night there was a storm and I thought my tent was going to break! I even heard the Hound of the Baskervilles, who barked in the distance. The next day I discovered enormous bones on my way!
When I passed the 530m top of Hameldown, the ponies came out of the fog. It was as magical, if a little unnerving. The sun finally settled and I could admire the moors that stretched until the eye could see no more.
